What global food format has strong cultural roots, street appeal, and yet remains unfamiliar in India?

The rising demand for international street food reveals a gap in authenticity. Urban consumers and food explorers seek genuine flavors but are often served diluted versions by fast food chains.

Tamales have a street soul, strong visual identity, and global versatility. Yet, in India, no brand that brings the authentic experience to the public. Thus, the opportunity wasn’t to blend in, but to go full loca.

Masa Loca steps in as a first-of-its-kind Indian food truck brand dedicated to tamales only, delivering authentic Latin American street food experience for urban food curious Indian consumers.

The logotype breaks conventional rules intentionally. Its hand-drawn style carries an irregular rhythm that mimics the wrapped, knotted form of a tamale.

Sharp triangular cuts echo the raw, folded feel of tamales and add bold, street-style energy that creates a sense of movement, urgency, and grit.

The ‘S’ features a knot-like twist, inspired by the hand-wrapped folds of a tamale.

The fiery orange sparks curiosity, while beige and brown ground the brand in warmth and authenticity making Masa Loca feel exciting, welcoming, and impossible to overlook.

BOLD, WARM, UNMISSABLE.

To introduce tamales in a street-food truck format, the brand needed to feel bold, playful, and inviting. The vibrant orange grabs attention, while the warm beige and deep brown add comfort and authenticity positioning Masa Loca as an exciting, conscious choice rather than just another fast-food competitor.and grit.
